Do you guys know about Adam Lister? He makes geometric 8-bit inspired artwork, based on famous paintings, movie posters, and geek characters. We <3 geek art.
We want to get back into doing occasional spotlight posts on unique artists (who make art with a nerdy twist, of course), so when we ran across Adam’s work, it seemed like the perfect way to re-ignite the geek art series.
Considering his work ranges from Star Wars to Jaws to Batman to Breaking Bad to… a portrait of Bob Ross (YES!), we definitely feel like we could find a good place for one of his prints on our geek gallery wall.
If you want a geek twist on classic art, he also has an 8-bit style version of The Kiss (Klimt), The Starry Night, even The Last Supper.
You can check out more of Adam’s work on his website. It looks like he also does custom work and 3D art.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite geek artist, or do you prefer more traditional artwork? We try to do a little mix of both (with a lot of DIY geek art, of course!).
Stay tuned next week for the beginning of our DIY geek Halloween projects! We’re also teaming with some awesome bloggers for a Halloween house tour, which we’re excited about (details to come).
